Manhasset, N.Y.—Expanding its global reach, CMP Technology on Thursday announced its International Customer Management Institute has acquired Beijing-based Customer Contact Center Standard.

CCCS provides quality certification for Chinese call centers as well as call center training and consulting for corporate clients. It also publishes the monthly Customer Service Review and organizes the China Contact Center Conference & Awards.

According to CMP, the World Expo 2008 in Shanghai and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing are fueling growth of the service sector and customer contact services. ICMI estimates that approximately $485 billion is spent annually to operate customer contact centers worldwide.
