CMP Technology acquires How Machines Work Corp.

Manhasset, N.Y.—CMP Technology announced Tuesday that it has acquired How Machines Work Corp., which designs and develops customized online programs. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition is designed to strengthen CMP’s Web 2.0 product offerings. Steve Arend, founder of How Machines Work, will join CMP as VP-digital services and will head up the new Digital Services Group, based in CMP’s San Francisco office.

The Digital Services Group, part of CMP’s Technology Innovators Group (TIG), will provide Web 2.0 programs to the publisher’s marketing customers and to other TIG divisions, including Electronics, Games, Software, Light Reading and ICMI (International Customer Management Institute).
