CMR: Technology ad spending down in Q2

Eugene, Ore.--Second-quarter ad revenue, traditionally strong, fell this year compared with last, particularly in the technology sector, according to research from Adscope, a division of Competitive Media Reporting. The top 10 publications fell 42.5% in ad pages compared with the second quarter of 2000. Categories with the greatest losses were Internet services (down 82%), systems integration (down 57%) and Web hosting services (down 48%).
