San Francisco--CNET Data Services, a Swiss affiliate of tech portal CNET, announced Thursday a partnership with Soliloquy, a New York-based company that makes electronic-commerce software. Under the agreement, the two companies will cross-promote their products to the PC sales channel. CNET Data Services provides a multi-lingual database of tech product descriptions, specifications and product images. Soliloquy provides what it calls a Conversational Sales Expert System, which allows shoppers to have two-way dialogue with Web sites using their own words. Soliloquy said its product simulates a conversation with a live person.
