CNET Networks' News.com relaunches

Published on .

San Francisco—CNET Networks’ News.com Web site has announced a major relaunch effective today.

With the launch, News.com is broadening its coverage to examine the business, political and cultural impact of technology. For example, it will run stories such as the role technology is playing in helping to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts’ views on key digital rights issues.

New categories include “Cutting Edge,” which provides coverage of topics such as autos, home, space and biotech, and “Media 2.0,” which provides coverage of topics including politics, government, entertainment and consumer services.

Other new features of the site include “The Big Picture,” a tool that lets readers navigate from the story they are reading to other related CNET News.com stories, and “What’s Hot,” a visual that provides readers with a graphic display of what’s important on CNET News.com at that moment.
