CNET reports solid second-quarter results

San Francisco—CNET Networks reported Monday that its total revenue for the second quarter of 2005 totaled $84.5 million, a 24% increase over revenue of $68.1 million in the second quarter last year. Net income for the second quarter of 2005 was $7.7 million compared with a net loss of $1.5 million for the same period of 2004.

In the same time frame, interactive revenue increased 30% to $76.8 million compared with revenues of $68.1 million a year earlier. For the full year 2005, CNET management estimated total revenue will be in the range of $347 million to $355 million, compared with $291.2 million in 2004.
