Published on .

Atlanta—CNN Worldwide announced a series of changes in its international newsgathering operations—the biggest since its 1980 inception. The global cable network plans to significantly increase its number of international correspondents, open a regional news hub in the United Arab Emirates, invest in a London-based digital production unit and make major investments in its International Newsource and in-house wire operations. New operations are also planned for Afghanistan, Belgium, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, the Philippines, Poland and Vietnam. The network is also assigning additional correspondents in Beijing, Jakarta and Pakistan.
