New York—The CNN Inspire Summit next Tuesday will kick off a new CNN Events division that will be run by the cable network’s advertising sales department.
Advertisers sponsoring events will be acknowledged on invitations and at the conferences, but will have no control over the content.
The Inspire Summit, which will salute women for achievements in fields such as politics, medicine and philanthropy, is being sponsored by L’Oréal Paris. A second event, planned for November, will focus on the small-business market and will be sponsored by UPS.
CNN is part of the Turner Broadcasting System division of Time Warner.
