New York—Today’s CNN Inspire Summit kicks off a new CNN Events division run by the cable network’s advertising sales department. Advertisers sponsoring events will be acknowledged on invitations and at the conferences, but will have no control over the content. The Inspire Summit, which salutes women for achievements in fields such as politics, medicine and philanthropy, is sponsored by L’Oréal Paris. A second event, planned for November, will focus on the small-business market and will be sponsored by UPS. CNN is part of the Turner Broadcasting System division of Time Warner.
