CNN severs ties with Reuters

Published on .

New York—Ending a 27-year relationship, CNN said that as of today it would stop using the Reuters news service in order to invest in its own newsgathering operations.

Nigel Pritchard, VP-international public relations at CNN, added: “The business is changing, and we’re investing multimillions of dollars to take advantage of all the growth in digital media; and to do that you have to generate your own content. By owning content we own our future.”

CNN will continue to use news provided by the Associated Press and Associated Press Television News.
