Commerce One, Ariba announce rival products at user conferences

Miami and Las Vegas--At dueling user conferences this week, e-marketplace vendors Ariba Inc., Mountain View, Calif., and Commerce One Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., will be spinning out news and new products. The biggest news Monday morning: Commerce One said it has won a contract with, the electronics marketplace from Compaq, Hewlett-Packard and others. competes with the recently launched, which runs on technology from Ariba, IBM and i2 Technologies.
