Pleasanton, Calif.--With financing sources tightening, e-marketplaces may soon turn to a new source for investment: Commerce One Inc. The marketplace platform provider today said it will team with five investorsÏCanaan Partners, Foundation Capital, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Private Equity and the Entrepreneur Growth FundÏto launch the $100 million Commerce One Ventures fund. Commerce One already provides a wide array of technology, services and match-making capabilities for companies wanting to get Net markets off the ground. Financing seems a natural next step.
