Compaq to cut biz computer prices by 17%

Houston--Compaq Computer Corp. announced it will cut prices on all of its business desktop computers by 17%. The move follows Round Rock, Texas-based Dell Computer Corp.'s recent cutting of its business line of personal computers by 18%. The two companies, the world's largest manufacturers of PCs, are vying for dominance in the lucrative corporate PC marketplace.
