Computer Associates debuts 'Mr. Cardboard' campaign

Published on .

Islandia, N.Y.--Computer Associates International Inc. launched a new ad campaign Saturday that includes radio, print and TV spots featuring “Mr. Cardboard.”

The campaign, which was created by Young & Rubicam, promotes the company’s FlexSelect licensing program, which offers month-to-month and metric-based licensing.

The TV spot shows a customer being harassed by the clueless software salesman, Mr. Cardboard.

“With FlexSelect, customers can escape the curse of cardboard sales forces that talk but don’t listen and set their own licensing terms--enabling them to better map their purchases to their business needs,” said Nancy Bhagat, CA’s senior VP-marketing, in a statement.

In the U.S., the TV spot aired this weekend during the U.S. Open.
