'Beyond Computing' goes belly-up

Published on .

New York-Beyond Computing, a joint venture between IBM Corp. and Forbes Special Interest Publications, is shutting down. The November/December issue will be its last. The monthly, launched in 1992, targeted top technology executives and focused on the integration of new technology. "For this type of audience it didn't make sense to continue a print version," said Marcos Rada, a spokesman for IBM Americas. "IBM is the biggest dot-com there is and we encourage our clients to get their information from the Web." Asked to elaborate, Rada said the two parties didn't see the close of the magazine "as anything other than that."
