ComScore: Google still dominates search, Bing gains

Reston, Va.—Google Sites continues to lead the U.S. search market, grabbing 65.9% of all search queries, both organic and paid, in the month of December, according to a new report from comScore. Microsoft Sites, powered by the company's Bing search engine, reached 15.1% of all searches in the U.S. Google's market share in December was up half a percentage point over the previous month, and may have come at the expense of Yahoo, which fell by a similar amount. (Yahoo search is powered by Bing.) When filtering just for organic search results, Google's market share was 68.1% in December, compared with 26.7% for the Bing/Yahoo combination.
