comScore: Google leads in video ad, non-ad impressions

Reston, Va.—comScore has reported that 183.3 million U.S. Internet users viewed more than 40 billion online videos in June, with the number of video ad views exceeding 20 billion for the month. According to comScore's “Video Metrix” report, Google sites, with YouTube predominating, were the top video content portals for June, with a combined 158.3 million unique viewers, followed by Facebook, with 61.6 million; AOL, with 51.0 million; VEVO, with 49.3 million; and Microsoft, with 46.8 million. Google sites also led in the number of video ads viewed in June, with 3.3 billion ad impressions. LiveRail.com was second with 2.4 billion ads, followed by the BrightRoll Platform with 2.4 billion, Adap.tv with 2.2 billion and Specific Media with 1.5 billion. Video ads reached nearly 54% of the U.S. population an average of 121 times each during the month, comScore said.
