ComScore introduces comScore Tech Metrix to track Internet users’ individual technology profiles

Published on .

Reston, Va.—Internet measurement firm comScore on Wednesday rolled out comScore Tech Metrix, a service designed to provide a detailed view of Internet users’ individual technology profiles.

The computer hardware/system information measured by comScore Tech Metrix includes: system manufacturer, processor name/type, operating system, service pack, CPU, RAM, hard drive size, CD-ROM or DVD drive, screen resolution, video and sound cards.

According to comScore, the service will help hardware/software product development and marketing executives improve product planning as well as market more intelligently by, among other things, understanding trends in adoption rates among various market segments; determining product market share versus competitors; and designing marketing programs based on deeper knowledge of the company’s customer base.
