Reston, Va.—ComScore Media Metrix on Friday released its monthly qSearch analysis of competitive search engines. In July 2005, Google was the market share leader in the U.S. search market with a 36.5% share of all the searches performed, followed by Yahoo! at 30.5% and MSN at 15.5%, according to the analysis.
Last week, competitive measurement company Hitwise released its own market share data, in which the search giants ranked in the same order, but with different percentages. It said Google garnered 59.2% of searches, Yahoo! Search captured 28.8% and MSN garnered 5.5% in July.
