Quebec City, Quebec—Search software company Copernic Technologies announced Wednesday that it has hired two executives away from FAST Search & Transfer, a corporate search company.

David Burns, founder and CEO of FAST, has been named CEO of Copernic; Raymond A. Romagnolo, VP-strategic accounts at FAST, becomes exec VP-strategic development at Copernic.

In conjunction with the hires, Copernic has opened U.S. headquarters in Boston, where Burns and Romagnolo live. Copernic’s 6-month-old b-to-b product, Enterprise Search, is targeted to small and midsize businesses and has been deployed in more than 1,800 companies.
