Stamford, Conn.--Corporate Branding L.L.C. said Thursday that the strongest Internet brands are holding strong despite the downturn in dot-com companies in general. Corporate Branding, which measures brand power by interviewing executives at the largest U.S. companies, said America Online Inc., Yahoo! Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. have seen dips in their brand power, while E*Trade and Ameritrade Inc. have lost no ground at all. The brand consultants said respondents found Internet companies less promising in terms of investment potential, but still strong in brand familiarity and positive reputation. B-to-b brands such as Infoseek Corp., Lycos Inc., Macromedia Inc., and ZDNet also held strong during the study, which ended in July.
