Council of PR says companies doing good job educating employees, customers

New York--Since Sept. 11, the communications offices of major corporations have done an effective job addressing safety and anxiety concerns expressed by employees and customers, according to a survey published this week by The Council of Public Relations Firms. Based on 1,013 employee interviews on Oct. 7, the survey found 59% of respondents believed communications techniques have been excellent or good, while 21% said they were fair. Council of Public Relations Firms President Jack Bergen said corporate communications display “a new openness and sensitivity; gone is the ‘corporate speak’ of former days.”
