Covisint starts Japanese subsidiary

Published on .

Detroit--In a bid to develop its marketing presence in the world's second-largest automotive marketplace, Covisint L.L.C. has launched a Japanese subsidiary, Covisint Japan K.K. The Tokyo-based subsidiary of the Big 3's b-to-b exchange will target Japanese suppliers and automakers, as well as those in South Korea, China and Australia. "Formally establishing our Japanese operations in Tokyo signifies the importance the Japanese market holds for our company, and the respect we have for the leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers that are headquartered here," said Kevin English, chairman and president-CEO of Covisint. The hub has yet to sign on a Japanese automaker as one of its joint venture backers.
