Covisint taps collaboration partner

Published on .

Detroit-Auto e-hub Covisint Wednesday tapped small, little-known vendor NexPrise Inc., Santa Clara, Calif., to provide collaborative design and shared virtual workspaces via the e-marketplace. NexPrise's ipTeam platform will let teams share product development responsibilities across the globe, including CAD file sharing, workflow management, virtual conferencing and a unique multimedia notebook for tracking the progress of a project. NexPrise's project tools complement the marketplace and procurement platform provided to Covisint by Oracle Corp. and Commerce One Inc. Close watchers of NexPrise might have seen this coming. The vendor scored individual deals with divisions of Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp. this May to enable Web-based project collaboration.
