CQ-Roll Call Group cuts 44 editorial staffers

Published on .

Washington, D.C.—CQ-Roll Call Group, the media company formed after The Economist Group completed its acquisition of Congressional Quarterly from Times Publishing Co. in August, last week announced a restructuring that included the elimination of 44 editorial jobs.

The cuts leave the organization with 184 editorial staffers covering Congress.

In a memo to employees, Laurie Battaglia, exec VP-managing director of the CQ-Roll Call Group, wrote, “We are happy to now say that our restructure is complete and no further personnel reductions of this nature are forthcoming.”
