BtoB Publisher Bob Felsenthal was promoted to vice president late last month by the board of directors of Crain Communications Inc.

Felsenthal joined BtoB in May 2000, shortly after the title was relaunched from Business Marketing in March 2000. Prior to joining BtoB, he served as associate publisher of Crain’s New York Business.

“Bob has been critical to the success of many of our publications during his career at Crain,” said Rance E. Crain, president of Crain Communications. “Because of that work and the incredible job he’s done at BtoB, I’m delighted to announce his promotion to vice president.”

Felsenthal has been with Crain Communications for 23 years. He joined the company as promotion director for the newly launched Crain’s Chicago Business. After becoming marketing director and helping to establish Crain’s Chicago Business as the most successful regional business publication in the country, Felsenthal took on the additional duties of overseeing marketing for Crain’s New York Business in 1987. He moved to New York as associate publisher of that publication in February 1988.

Felsenthal began his career at the Chicago Daily News and the Chicago Sun-Times, where he held various marketing and sales promotion positions. He is a graduate of Marquette University, with a degree in business and marketing. He is based in New York City.
