Chicago—Crain's Chicago Business will introduce a metered subscription model for its website, ChicagoBusiness.com, beginning Thursday, according to a story on the publication's website. Users will be able to view up to 12 Crain's Chicago Business articles per month at no charge.
Once users reach that threshold, they will be asked to pay $59 for an annual subscription. A combined print and digital subscription will be $99 per year.
According to CCB, like BtoB published by Crain Communications Inc., most visitors to the site will see no change but will have access to more free content.
“We have enhanced the user experience and instituted a subscription model that is current and fair. It satisfies the power user's need for deeper Crain's content while leaving other users' access to the site unaffected,” Crain's Chicago Business Publisher David Snyder said in the story at ChicagoBusiness.com.
