Cut to the Chase

Published on .

Company: Panasonic, Secaucus, N.J. Agency: N/A Market: Sales directors, sales reps Quick chase: Laptops take a licking, but they don't always keep on ticking. That is, until Panasonic's Toughbook came along. Built to be not only mobile but durable as well, the Toughbook is shown being pounded, sprayed and manhandled during its rigorous testing. In this superb spot, a series of elegant, competent-looking business types are shown experiencing a variety of humiliating mishaps with their conventional laptops. The sudden destruction of their computers takes place against the strains of a graceful waltz. The irony is wonderful. Clue: Stuff happens. It helps to have a laptop that can take a beating. Also useful is an ad like this, which effectively demonstrates this point.
