Cut to the Chase

Published on .

Company: Lenovo, Purchase, N.Y. Agency: Ogilvy & Mather, New York Market: Small business Quick chase: A woman rushes into a co-worker's office to announce that the shipment of ThinkPads has arrived. Breathlessly, she recites the features of the product she describes as the "wireless workhorse." "It's got Intel, stainless hinges, titanium composite, hard-drive protection." She declares the notebook computer "rock solid." The exchange borders on the hard sell, but the spot drives home the key benefit of durability. The spot also introduces Phil, the office klutz, who accidentally topples the water cooler. It is he who will be awarded the first ThinkPad. Clue: We'll see if it's still ticking after it takes a licking from Phil.
