Fort Atkinson, Wis.—Cygnus Business Media said Monday that it has cut another 50 jobs across the company in editorial and sales, “with a larger percentage related to retail and manufacturing-related properties” according to a statement issued by the company.

The job cuts amount to 12% of the company’s staff. Earlier this year Cygnus eliminated 30 jobs.

”The areas that are affected are related to media that remain viable but are currently depressed due to market conditions, and some editorial will be suspended for the coming months,” the statement said.

Lustre, Modern Jeweler, RV Trade Digest and Wood Digest will suspend operation, according to sources.

In addition to the cuts, Cygnus said it has restructured its strongest units—the pavement, fire and EMS sectors—so that operations are under a central sales and marketing group designed to provide more integrated marketing opportunities.
