Daly, Lucanegro to launch magazine focused on IT and education

Published on .

San Rafael, Calif.--Jim Daly, the one-time editor of Business 2.0, said Wednesday he has left Red Herring online, where he was editor in chief, to launch a new publication about the intersection of technology and education.

Daly will be editor in chief of the magazine, which will be called Edutopia. It will be backed by the George Lucas Educational Foundation, which is based in San Rafael.

Cherly Lucanegro, who formerly held positions at Salon.com and Industry Standard, will be the publisher of the magazine, which will debut in September with a controlled circulation of 80,000, Daly said.

The publication is the expansion of a newsletter, also called “Edutopia” and also published by the foundation.
