Database101 files countersuit against Infogroup

Published on .

Omaha, Neb.—Database101.com, the year-old sales contact company founded by former Infogroup Inc. CEO Vinod Gupta, has filed a lawsuit against Infogroup, accusing it of unfairly interfering with Database101's business and stealing trade secrets, among other charges. The suit is in response to one filed in September by Infogroup against Gupta alleging that he stole confidential information to help start his new company. According to the Omaha World-Herald, Database101 alleges that Infogroup employees spread false information about Database101 products, hired a key Database101 employee to extract trade secrets and attacked Database101 computers thousands of times to try to make them crash. Neither company, both of which are Omaha-based, responded to requests for comment by deadline.
