DataGuise introduces masking security solution for databases

Published on .

Fremont, Calif.—Data security company DataGuise has introduced dgSolution Suite, which the company said is the industry's first masking-in-place (MIP) security solution for multi-databases, such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Service.

Data masking is the process of protecting sensitive database information from inappropriate visibility, with the appearance preserved but the information content secure. Masking in place means the data is changed directly in the database, without having to extract it first, transform it, and then put the updated values back.

DataGuise said the MIP solution retains access controls to privileged data and helps ensure regulatory compliance.
