Datran Media buys ad serving company Chintano

Published on .

New York—Datran Media, an e-mail and affiliate marketing company, announced Wednesday that it has acquired Chintano, a Seattle-based online ad technology company that specializes in contextual ad serving.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The key benefit of integrating this state-of-the-art ad serving technology within ExchangeOnline.com [Datran’s exchange that enables advertisers to bid for cost-per-acquisition media] is that advertisers now have a single platform to manage their campaigns across both the display and e-mail media channels in a cohesive way,” said Matt Keiser, president of Datran Media, in a statement.

Datran also announced that Scott Knoll has joined the company as senior VP-general manager. He was previously CEO of BlackFoot, a MediaBank company.
