DDB cuts staff in New York, Chicago

Chicago--Citing the usual suspects of spending cuts by clients and the softening economy, Omnicom Group Inc.'s DDW Worldwide said it is laying off 26 staff members in its New York office and 23 in Chicago. Last month, DDB lost the $90 million General Mills Inc. account after 39 years, while the $50 million Eveready Battery Co. account went to Omnicom sibling TBWA/Chiat/Day.
