Houston--Just-launched BBCN, Houston, announced Thursday a partnership with Dell Computer Corp., Round Rock, Texas, to sell the computer manufacturer's products and services to automobile dealers. The move advances BBCN's business-to-business strategy, announced Jan. 14, which is to link many of the 22,000 U.S. automotive dealerships to its purchasing portal. Dell will offer individual computers, as well as larger packages addressing an entire dealership's needs. The move underscores Dell's effort to reach vertical markets through alliances, even though its corporate domain is a highly successful Internet destination. Automotive dealerships spend $59 billion annually on basic equipment and supplies, according to the National Automobile Dealers Association.
