New York--The non-delivery rate for legitimate commercial e-mail is increasing, according to ReturnPath’s latest Email Blocking and Filtering Report.

Among its findings: 18.7% of e-mail sent during the second half of 2003 was not delivered to in-boxes at all, up from 17.0% in the first half and 15.0% in the second half of 2002.

The e-mail delivery firm based its study on more than 100 companies that use Return Path's Mailbox Monitor Service. It tracked delivery, blocking and filtering rates for about 30,000 e-mail marketing and newsletter campaigns during the second half of 2003.
