Austin--Dell Computer Corp. has begun delivering what could be callled b-to-b integration in a box. Developed jointly with vendor webMethods Inc., the package includes webMethod's XML-based integration software shipped preconfigured on a Dell server. The package can be used by companies to link their back-end systems, such as enterprise resource planning, and procurement directly into partner systems or e-marketplaces. Dell has been expanding beyond PC and server sales into applications and consulting for some time now. The new solution, starting at about $10,000, is targeted at small companies looking to make their first venture into b-to-b commerce.
