Tokyo—Ad agency holding company Dentsu, Tokyo, announced plans to acquire media company Aegis Group, London, for $4.9 billion. Aegis' network consists of five brands—Carat, iProspect, Isobar, Posterscope and Vizeum—all of which will remain intact following the acquisition. Dentsu said it plans to make no changes in the management structure at Aegis, and all top executives plan to stay in their current roles through the end of 2013. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
