Washington, D.C.—The Digital Advertising Alliance, a consortium of media and marketing associations that promotes industry self-regulation, has unveiled its Mobile Guidance. The document describes how marketers and publishers can provide notification about data collected on a particular device over time and across different applications to help ensure consumer privacy. It also explains how marketers can give notice for the collection of precise location or personal directory data. Members of the DAA include the American Advertising Federation, the American Association of Advertising Agencies, the Association of National Advertisers, the Direct Marketing Association and the Interactive Advertising Bureau.
