Direct mailers sponsor survey on 5-day mail delivery

Washington, D.C.—The Mailers Technical Advisory Committee and the U.S. Postal Service are asking direct mailers to take an online survey expressing their opinion about the USPS’ plan to move to five-day delivery and processing.

The committee, which includes printers, catalog houses, magazine publishers and fulfillment service bureaus, said, “This survey should be considered critically important in determining the very near-term future of the U.S. Postal Service and the mailing industry.”

The USPS projects that moving from six- to five-day service, if approved by Congress, will save more than $3 billion annually. The online survey, which closes Sept. 11, is available at
