Value of direct marketing M&A deals up 30% in first half

Published on .

New York—Direct marketing industry mergers and acquisitions activity for the first half of this year totaled $18.3 billion in estimated transaction value, up 30% from the first half of 2004, according to Petsky Prunier.

During the same period last year, deal value was a combined $14.3 billion.

There were 216 transactions in this year’s first half, down from 275 in the year-earlier period.

“The M&A environment for direct marketing industry companies continues to reflect an ongoing trend of increased activity, larger deals and, in general, a mood of confident assertiveness,” according to the report.
