Direct Media to close California office

Published on .

Greenwich, Conn.--Direct Media Inc. said it plans to shutter its Walnut Creek, Calif., office and move two senior b-to-b list managers to the company's headquarters in Greenwich, Conn.

Chairman-CEO Dave Florence confirmed that Direct Media clients Intuit and Symantec both pulled their lists off the market for privacy reasons. Without them, he said, "it didn't make sense for us anymore [to have the Walnut Creek office]."

Bill McKay, VP-list management, and Rich Parker, senior account manager, will move to Connecticut by the end of the year, Florence said. "They went out there originally because the high-tech business was so important," he said. "That market dried up."
