Dirty Water gets cash infusion

Published on .

A pair of venture capital firms have made an investment in a new advertising, direct marketing and brand identity company dubbed Dirty Water. Based in New York, Dirty Water's business plan calls for it to focus on providing young companies with integrated brand marketing campaigns. The amount of the investment was not disclosed. Three former Foote, Cone & Belding, New York, senior managers founded the company. They are CEO Peter DePasquale, CFO Bob Burgess and Chief Creative Officer Sam Gulisano. It comes to market with four clients in tow, including executive charter jet company FlightTime.com, Waltham, Mass., and digital information storage firm Usendit.com, Durham, N.C. Venture capital firms backing Dirty Water are Southeast Interactive Technology Funds, Research Triangle, N.C., and BancBoston Ventures, Boston. Executives at the company liken the Internet to a muddied stream, where the clutter of big and small companies makes it difficult to stand out. Dirty Water refers to the company's mission of navigating through the mess.
