DLJ venture capital unit leads $42M investment into eHealthInsurance.com

New York--Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette venture capital unit Sprout Group led a $42 million investment into eHealthInsurance.com, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based online provider of health insurance to consumers and small businesses. Sprout Group contributed $12 million to the capital infusion, which is eHealthInsurance's second round of financing. The remaining $30 million was contributed by companies that include Goldman Sachs & Co., New York, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Menlo Park, Calif.
