DMA announces Echo awards kick-off; Leno to emcee ceremony

New York—The Direct Marketing Association announced Wednesday that it has kicked off its 2008 International ECHO Awards competition.

The awards recognize direct marketing campaigns globally based on excellence in innovative strategy, creativity and results. More information about the awards competition is available at www.dma-echo.org.

The DMA also announced that “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno will emcee the awards ceremony Oct. 14 during the DMA08 Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas.

The ECHO call for entries ad campaign was created by MRM Gillespie, a Princeton, N.J.-based agency, and a dedicated ECHO Web site was developed and will be managed by BKV, a direct response agency in Atlanta.

Last year,1,124 campaigns competed for ECHO honors.
