DMA applauds Senate’s passage of postal reform bill

Published on .

New York—The Direct Marketing Association applauded the Senate's approval of a postal reform bill in a unanimous vote Thursday.

Direct Marketing Association President John Greco announced the news in a speech he gave at a Direct Marketing Club of New York luncheon. He said he'd been informed through his BlackBerry just moments before taking the podium.

"Two weeks ago in Washington, we moved from having a bill placed on hold to clearing the way [for the bill's passage in the Senate]," Greco said. "We're just getting into the red zone. It's not a touchdown yet."

The DMA said it expects postal reform legislation to be enacted this year.
