The announcement was made at the DMA’s DM Days New York Conference & Expo at the Jacob Javits Conference Center.

The new council will serve as the voice for the growth of the search engine marketing industry, representing all constituencies as the primary source of education, exchange of ideas, guidelines, information and interaction, according to the DMA.

Dina Freeman, manager-communications at Yahoo! Search Marketing and, Scott Delea, senior VP-general manager-eMarketing Services at DigitalGrit, will be co-vice chairmen.
