DMA plans show for travel marketers

New York—The Direct Marketing Association and Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International Wednesday announced they will jointly host a Direct Marketing Conference for Travel Marketers, Oct. 16-17 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

The show will be part of the DMA’s 87th Annual Conference & Exhibition. "The travel industry is rapidly turning to direct marketing to attract new customers," said John A. Greco Jr., DMA president-CEO, in a statement. "More than half of all travel marketers use direct and interactive marketing to solicit direct orders."

Jim Compton, senior VP-marketing for Continental Airlines, will deliver the keynote address at the travel conference.
