DMA predicts DM employment boom

Employment growth in the direct marketing profession will outpace overall employment growth in the U.S. by almost 400%, according to a report by the Direct Marketing Association. The DMA forecast employment in direct marketing will increase at an annual rate of 4.7% between 2000 and 2005, compared with an overall employment growth rate of 1.3%. This year, 14.7 million people are employed in direct marketing, including 6.7 million in b-to-b, the DMA said.
